The accommodations of Choanoke Outfitters are superb and set in a family atmosphere with outstanding southern home cooked meals. The farmland presented by Choanoke Outfitters give the perfect setting for both deer and turkey to challenge a hunter. Guides are familiar with the farms and wildlife in the area, to aid hunters of all skill levels. Hunting stands are well maintained and reviewed annually to ensure they are well positioned for optimal hunting results.

For the past 7 years I have been hunting at Choanoke Outfitters and have found it to be a “Great family – hunting operation”.

I have personally hunted with Choanoke for 5 years, and during those 5 years, I have had the opportunity to share a camp filled with great guides and fantastic experiences. From great accommodations to even greater food, the owners, Zane and Josh, go out of their way to make every day of your hunt enjoyable. Choanoke’s guides offer every service a hunter could ask for, from tracking to retrieval to processing of your deer. In addition, they provide a friendly atmosphere that ranges from outdoor education to laughter around the campfire at night! With over 10,000 acres of land and over a 100 stands to hunt that range from swamp to open fields, there are opportunities for all hunters, and the deer population in this area is one of the highest in North Carolina! Choanoke also can accommodate female hunters! My wife has accompanied me several times and has already harvested a buck and a doe.

2015 hunt was our 5th year hunting at CHOANOKE Outfitters. My Dad and I travel down every year from NH. The stands are very well built and comfortable also many different locations to hunt out of. I had a very good week, and saw 9 different bucks. Shot a real nice 6 point and won the weekly deer pool. I saw 27 deer total for the week. Our hunt was in the 3rd week of November. The Food at this lodge is unbelievable, and the guides do everything they can to put you on deer. Not to mention the Brand new beautiful lodge, which is is very clean and there is plenty of room for all hunters. I would recommend this Outfitter to anyone that would like to hunt in NC. Dad and I are already rebooked for 2016, and we cannot wait to go back down and hunt.
